Farming communities near Antequera built great chambered tombs from stone slabs, some weighing well over 100 tonnes. Menga, raised around 3700 BC, is aligned not on the sunrise but on the Peña de los Enamorados, a mountain whose outline looks like a human face. With Viera and the later El Romeral, the tombs show how early Iberian farmers shaped a sacred landscape.
