After a mass meeting at the Old South Meeting House, colonists, some disguised as Mohawks, boarded three ships at Griffin's Wharf and dumped 342 chests of East India Company tea into Boston Harbor in protest at taxes set by a Parliament in which they had no vote. Britain answered with the Coercive Acts, closing the port, which pushed the colonies towards armed revolt.
